Philippians 4:6 (NIV): “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

What is Prayer and Petition?

Paul encourages us to not let anxiety control our thoughts and our responses, this is a gentle call to trust God with both big and small things (every situation). Prayer is our general communication with God - relationship building, worship, and talking to him. Petition suggests a specific, vulnerable, and repetitive request to the Lord, who will always keep His promises and let us rest easy in Him.

Prayer is the pathway from anxiety to peace, and gratitude is the bridge that helps us move from fear into trust.

Now Let's Pray

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for inviting us to cast our anxieties on You, big and small. Give us the strength and discipline to pursue You in both prayer and petition as we lay our fears at your feet. Remind us to not look back, as we trust that You will always move us forward.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
