Joshua 1:8 (NIV): "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."

Is The Word Of God Alive?

I like how the “B” in book is capitalized here, it reminds us that the bible is not just another book to collect dust on a shelf in your library. Remember, in the beginning “the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (Jn 1:1). The Word of God has survived through generations, multiple wars, natural disasters, and pandemics. It is the eternal truth, never changing. When we set the Word as the foundation of our lives, and meditate on/digest its verses and teachings, we will start to reflect the image of God.

“Prosperity and success” comes from keeping to Word “on our lips”. We must speak it and meditate on it, and remind ourselves that the goal is heart alignment, not just head knowledge. The Word is alive and active, you can never know a verse too well because God can always reveal something new to you within these pages.

Now Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for an everlasting, generational truth. Thank You for the provision of Your Word, and for speaking to us and sharpening us with its teachings. We pray that You light a fire inside of us to pursue Your truths everyday. Create in us new hearts that deeply love You more and more as the days pass.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
