Draw Attention to Jesus

2 Corinthians 6:17–18 (NIV): “Therefore, ‘Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.’ ‘I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.’”

What Is A Holy Lifestyle?

Here, Paul is quoting the Old Testament to remind believers what it means to “be the light”. As believers, God has scattered us throughout the world to shine bright in the spiritual darkness that surrounds us. This does not mean strict isolation from the world, but quite the opposite. A holy and pure lifestyle set apart from sin, idolatry, and wickedness draws attention to Jesus. In a realm of darkness, people’s eyes will be drawn the light, just because you are not verbally preaching the gospel doesn’t mean you aren’t spreading the love of Jesus. When we separate our lives from a pagan lifestyle, we experience harmony and intimacy with God as His sons and daughters.

Now Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for Your love that fills us every day. Remind us that we are here to cast light in the darkness, wherever You have strategically placed us in the world. Give us the strength and discernment to plant seeds of love through our words, actions, and lifestyle.
