Luke 18:15-17 (NIV): 15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

What Does it Mean to Have Child-Like Faith?

Jesus corrects His disciples for turning away children. Rather than seeing children as a distraction, Jesus honors them, lifting them up as the model for entering God's kingdom -not because they are innocent or naive, but because they receive freely, trust fully, and approach God humbly. God invites us to let go of striving and to receive God’s grace like a gift. You don’t have to earn God’s love or qualify for His kingdom. It’s freely given to those who come with trust, openness, and a child-like faith.

Now Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for the invitation to enter the kingdom on our knees and not by climbing. Thank You for loving us without restriction or requirements, but simply because we are Your children. Give us the strength to seek You boldly and earnestly everyday, and to trust in Your character and divine timing.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
