Ezekiel 37:4–6 (NIV): “4 Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
How Does God Patiently Build For His Glory?
The prophet Ezekiel is literally sitting in a valley full of dry bones - symbolizing spiritual death and lifelessness. The power of God’s Word can resurrect anything, even something as seemingly lifeless as these bones. God’s restoration powers are intricate and complete - starting from the structure of the bones to the flesh and the breath (Sprit of God), He fully restores in all areas - body, identity, and Spirit.
Very important: God brings dead things to life so that His glory and power is known. We must remind ourselves that every blessing, restoration, and gift we receive serves the purpose of glorifying God, not US. We were created for Him, not the other way around. Our victory on the other side of a struggle is not for our own sake, but for His glory.
Now Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father thank You for the powerful, living Word of God. Your Word is limitless in power, far beyond human understanding. Remind us that restoration in any area of our lives is only possible through You, and it is for Your glory. As we continue to walk with You, keep us humble and meek.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
