2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NIV): 4 "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

How Can We Use God's Power to Fight Our Battles?

We are called to actively filter our thinking through the lens of Christ’s truth. Lies from the enemy may hold strongholds on us, but as believers, we do not resort to weapons of the world to fight these lies (anger, manipulation, human logic, violence). Instead, we have access to divine power through the Word, prayer, and the Holy Spirit. When we live by God’s truth, we not only defend the enemy’s lies but we demolish and take them captive.

Step 1: Recognize the lie the enemy is feeding you

Step 2: Replace it with God’s truth and power

Step 3: Utilize mental discipline and awareness to repeat this process during spiritual warfare

Now Let's Pray

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for the sword of the Spirit, which gives us full offensive strength to rebuke the enemy. Plant a fire in our hearts to pursue You and know You more every day, to equip ourselves with truth. Remind us daily that You have defeated the darkness of the world and that we walk in this light and authority.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
